Divine Mercy Gift Items and Prayer Cards

The beautiful feast of Divine Mercy is celebrated the Sunday after Easter. The central theme of this feast is the Mercy of God, manifested visibly and in messages from Jesus Who appeared to Saint Faustina Kowalska in the 1930's, requesting that an image symbolizing His mercy be painted and that sinners trust in His Mercy always, saying, "Jesus, I trust in You." The CFP Holy Angels Gift Shop offers several items to spread this devotion. Some are pictured here.

Saints of March

March is a great month for some great saints so before the month gets away from us, we'd like to introduce them to you via the CFP Holy Angels Gift Shop.

First, Saint Patrick, whose memorial is March 17 and whom we all know and love--the great Bishop of Ireland who brought the Catholic faith to the Emerald Isle. Taken to Ireland as a slave when young, he could have turned his back on the Irish people but, instead, was freed from slavery, seemingly miraculously, only to return to convert his captors. He was known to go throughout Ireland with a bevy of builders and would convert a town, build a church, ordain a priest for the new parish, and move on. What a way to evangelize!

Who can forget Saint Joseph, foster Dad to Jesus, the first man to see the face of God! His feast day March 19 is a Solemnity in the Church, and rightly so. This is the man who cared for Jesus in His youth. Can you imagine Joseph cuddling the Infant Christ, hearing him coo, helping him walk, teaching him how to plane a board, instructing him in prayer? What a joy Joseph must have had in his son and in his wife the Blessed Mother!

The great Father of Western Monasticism, Saint Benedict, is commemorated on March 21. Benedict was responsible for giving the Church the Rule that bears his name and for establishing monasteries that have held the faith secure for all the centuries since sixth century which was blessed by his life. The medal of Saint Benedict carries with it great promises if it is used with faith.

Growing in Humility

There's a truism that, if you think you are humble, you aren't.

A few years ago, I saw a young woman wearing a t-shirt that read, "It's not about YOU." That statement is a call to humility.

The Lord calls us to grow in humility, the virtue that helps us recognize that it's not about us--it's about others and about God. We recognize our value as children of God and only because of that relationship. We recognize that every other human being is equally valuable for also equally being a child of God. Humility keeps us in our place, from thinking too much about ourselves and not enough about others. Unless we are saints already, we can probably all use some practice in growing in humility.

The CFP Holy Angels Gift Shop offers some products to help foster this virtue.

The Litany of Humility, written by Cardinal Merry de Val, is a beautiful prayer for obtaining this virtue. The CFP Holy Angels Gift Shop offers it in larger size and wallet size.

Litany of Humility Wallet Size Card. Bulk Prices Available.

Large Size Litany of Humility 50c each. Bulk prices available.

The Power of Humility is a full length book that encourages the adoption of this virtue.

Power of Humility Book 14.95

Ita Missa Est is a traditional prayer which fosters humility. Praying it daily will help the pray-er to fertilize this virtue.

Ita Miss Est Prayer Card 50c each. Bulk prices available.

If you pray for humility, God will give you many chances to practice it. Be prepared for their arrival and work through them with the grace expected of a humble person.

God bless you and thank you for your support of the Confraternity of Penitents through our on line gift shop.
